Fog light switch bulb

Post by Goose »

I have decided to put some sound in my 1964 convertible and, as I don't have fog lights, have decided to repurpose the fog light switch (low down near the drivers door) as a system on/off switch. I noticed when cleaning the switch that the barrel has room for a bulb that illuminates the white dot at the end of the switch barrel.

What I don't have is the bulb that goes in there or any idea what it might be, apart from a long, thin bulb!

Can anyone help me find the correct part for said switch?

Thanks!

The switch should have a slot down either side into which the cap on the bulb fits. The bulb is similar in size to the indicator switch bulb on a 1098, but with a plain cap not threaded.

BA7s part number 281:

The switch was never standard, all fog lights are add-on accessories. Does your system have a clock or other memory functions? If so, isolating from power may not be a good idea.

Thanks for the bulb link!

The system is going to be an MP3 player, an amp and a pair of speakers hidden the "glove box" recesses either side of the speedo so there will be no need for permanent power.
