You need a proper trailer wiring loom, wired according to the diagram available from suppliers
You also need a heavy duty flasher unit with extra terminals for an earth wire and a wire to a separate warning light which operates with the trailer indicators.
For this light you can use the spare light on the speedo normally used for the blocked filter (the light at 15mph). If you have a wire to the oil filter disconnect it and connect it to the correct terminal on the heavy duty flasher.
This is the easiest way to wire the warning lights, you discard the normal flasher, replace it with the new one and move the wire from the filter to the flasher.
I cannot give you the teminals as it depends on what flasher you use, you will have to follow the instructions

If you have the standard flasher unit then you will need a repeater relay for things to work properly - the standard unit is designed to work with 2 x 21w + 5w lamps. When you add a trailer then you add an extra 21w load. It will work for w while, but will eventually protest. An electronic unit will be OK with 3 x 21 + 5. (See http://www.vehicle-wiring-products.eu/V ... ashers.php) and so the existing warning lamp will suffice.

The Minor pre-dates many of the modern regulations regarding towing, but still has to comply with others, so I'm not sure whether you must have an additional warning - can't really see why you would need it, and I certainly don't bother.
