information needed on auto traveller

Post by spannernut »

Hi as this is my first post, and i'm in ireland, wexford to be exact.
i have a very clean 1968 morris minor traveller,blue,automatic.
now the information i recieved on buying this car,is as follows.
the car was commissioned for a flight lietenant who lost the use of a leg ?
i had the car apraised by an engineer who stated it was an original factory job.
now i am sure there has to be more of these, but never having came across 1 before,i feel sure this forum would be more knowlegable than i.
i eagerly await an answer.

Most probably not done at the factory but done by the original supplying dealer. I have a Traveller built onto a commercial vehicle chassis which was done by the supplying dealer when the car was new....

Never made as a standard production vehicle although "specials" are quite possible....

It would also be useful to know what running gear was used as well.

The smallest auto box apart from the Mini was for the 1275 Marina. I have seen a DIY conversion of that engine and box

Unlikely if the car was commisioned in 1968 as the Marina was still some way off production.

That was what I was implying, the Marina was launched to rave reviews :( in 1971.
A Heritage Certificate would show the original build spec.
