Cleaning inside of vinyl hood

The inside of the vinyl hood on wife's tourer is in a filthy state.
The outside was too, but I've cleaned that.
The bag was able to be put in the bath & given a good scrub

I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions as to the best way, or cleaner etc for the inside.
It looks as if the car has been used for carrying sacks of coal!

Hood is perfectly serviceable, so I'm reluctant to splash out on a new one, there's enough money being spent on other stuff at the mo'.

well I too am having your same problem, I was also thinking of repainting the inside with some kind of canvas paint. I tried to clean the inside with vim, that help a little but not to the standards I was hopeong for

If it's just a bit "mouldy/mildewey" try a dilute solution of Dettol Anti bacterial Mould & Mildew remover on a clean damp cloth. A mild solution of Vanish upholstery/carpet cleaner will also do the trick. Then a wipe once a month will keep it clean. The vinyl hoods a pretty rugged. Always try on a small area low down first - don't make it too strong. Hope this helps.

Any biological washing powder/liquid can also be used, but it won't get rid of mould.

I will try the washing powder with a scrubbing brush, a bit at a time. Just need a nice warm day!
It's not mildew, just muck I think.

I too had been wondering about some sort of "paint". I may look at the leather/ vinyl restorer's sites.

I e-mailed Woolies.
they don't have a product for cleaning the inside surface & the vinyl aerosol colourant is no good either.

They suggest a good upholstery cleaner.
I'll probably try washing powder first.

Paint sounds like a terrible idea as it is too stiff.
How about the treatments they use to make carpets and soft furnishings stain resistant?
