whats the nearest RAL colour to the BMC engine colour?

6002 Leaf green (only a guess after looking at a chart)

land rover green is the best match

i think grass green is too light but the leafy green is as near as dam it.
its for the suspension parts to be powder coated.
under the car its going .be hard to tell

all underparts suspension etc should be black

mine will be green so too will the gearbox, not gold, that will upset the purists i know. not too bothered about black.its dull and there all black. but thank you for pointing out the land rover colour.whatever the code is
the whole underside will be dove gray to match the outside. not going to show it in concours, just keep it clean and tidy. i suppose someone out there in a quilted coat with a hood will point out the colour miss match but at the end of the day the car belongs to me. its best to be different.

Without a doubt i am all for personaliseation

do treat the underside to some clear waxoil or simialr though

don't worry about that. after spending the winter months on my back fitting a new floor and sills waxoyling is high on my list of to do's. it's no good spoiling the ship for a hapath' of tar as they say.

Bull Motif sell spray cans of engine paint - just buy one!

i.ve managed to get a tin of engine paint matched to the same shade as the powder coating that is so close to the bmc colour it'll be hard to tell once it's weathered in. engine, gearbox, prop, diff, axle, springs, uprights, lowerarms, torsion bars, brake back plates (front and rear ) and shocks all the same shade. nice :D

You can buy tins of the original "Mowog Green" colour.

I recently painted my engine and gearbox with British Leyland Green. I used twin pack which gives an amazing shine. I would recommend doing them in twin pack IF you have a suitable place to do the job and a breathing mask connected to your compressor ( not kept in the same room as the painting work !! ).[frame]Image[/frame]
