can i ask when you sand the surface rust off do you have to put any rust killer on it or just primer it???

sand it back right to the steel ,then prime, i still dont know what colour ill go for yet

id love to get more done ,just didnt have the money on the up side i got a new job so just a few bills this month and julys wages go to morris ,im still doing a few jobs ie .tar removal

I know what you mean Eveline, still, the best point of a restoration is that you can work around the money problems becasue as you say, there's so many crud removal, sanding, scraping and cleaning jobs when the funding side is down. Then you can take a step forward on pay day. Keep up the good work love, your doing very well, and a inspiration to those of us on a day when that bolt rounds off, or that bit won't fit. Just log on for some inspiration.

Oh dear! Reading and seeing this thread makes me want to take bits of my car off, sand, prime and repaint. Trouble is mine's original and its a fact that if i do that, they wont go back on. If they do it wont look right

Hello Eveline-Wow.
I’ve just read through your entire thread-on the mention of it by David Miles, and feel moved to say how I feel.
All so very, very impressive.
“Super-Eve”, my goodness woman what do they feed ladies like you on for breakfast over there(nuts and bolts) I do know what they give the fellas to drink (if my good mate Mick is to believed) Guinness .
Just terrific, that’s how I can explain how all the work has, made me feel.
I felt dizzy after day eleven.
I have to say that it’s all wonderful credit to your Father, to Clive and of course to you. You have headed the whole project, by logging it and showing all the Pics to us.
I just made a few notes as I looked through it all, and offer them now, as my personal observations.
I loved that magic rope trick shown on the front Chassis legs. Not often you see original Artisan skills under such conditions. The work rate was prodigious -It makes me wonder why the two fellas concerned never knocked up a double garage workshop (in their tea break).
To see the items half cleaned off was quite something else thanks for sharing that. Mick said they’d been scrubbed well and that you were a good (but I corrected his English) and said –“item Cleaner”. Lol.
On day 13-I nearly fainted when I realised I was looking at the N/S roof area.
Day 17, sorry to say this but you got it very badly wrong- your Bum is supposed to be “on” the carpet, not the rusty panel occupying it.
Don’t know if you noticed but there seemed to be a lot of fairly stunned people reading your thread-a lot of quite support and many words of encouragement-but a lot of silence-that surely is a sign of the quality of the work and or fabrication?
Day 30 -Gotta say, topmantinsmith-fab fabricator, quite obviously, in my opinion, sheer Artificers skills.
Finally I must mention, you must have the greatest of personal persuasive talents-as to get anyone who owns a “Mustang” to down tools to work on a Moggie, deserves a medal.
