measurement please?

Post by les »

Can anyone help by supplying the measurement of the distance at the very top of the door appeture on a van. I need an accurate figure please. Bearing in mind the tab on the end of a measuring tape makes this difficult. Thanks.

Many thanks, it confirms my measurement of 41 1/2'' is too narrow! Worrying though, as this measurement was the case before dismanteling the back.

As it's all a bit curved there, you need to specify a datum point.
Are there seams or some other fixed points that one can measure between?
An actual photo highlighting where to measure will mean you are comparing like with like.

Yes it is curved, but can be measured in a straight line from one point to the other. the datum is from the uppermost point before the horizontal roof bar, my sketch illustrates this.
