Help requested in identifying these seats

Post by silverdorking »

Please can anybody tell me what vehicle these seats belong to? They came in a pretty normal MM Traveller Series 3, (1961) they were obviously wrong as the car had a red/beige two tone interior which I have now reinstated.
Until I saw their 'undercarriages' I assumed they were early(er) MM series but perhaps they are not. Anybody got the defininitive view- very much welcome.
Thanks Andrew[frame]Image[/frame][frame]Image[/frame][frame]Image[/frame]

Wow, box springs!
I'd say the car they are out of a posher car than a Minor.
As it looks like they have been recovered to a high standard it might be worth ask Newton Commercials.
They might have done the job.

I'm really just trying to find out where they are from- I thought the early MM series cars used springing with non-folding backs but I am confused by the 'feet' on these seats

Series MMs had folding backs, horizontal pleats and a more rounded top of the backrest. The legs are not standard Minor, they have been modified.
Later Series 11 seats had a solid base and horizontal pleats
