Re: Water Loss
My car is at the garage to have the water pump fitted.
Unfortunately the bit (sorry I don't know the technical term) that the bypass hose fits to on the cylindar head has snapped off (it was perished).
Does anyone have any advise on what I can do.
Thanks for your continued help.
Andy

Re: Water Loss
It's a horrible thing to get out - heat and perseverance required. You then have the option to plug it - or fit a new spigot.

Thanks very much for the reply. Which would you say is the beat way ?bmcecosse wrote:It's a horrible thing to get out - heat and perseverance required. You then have the option to plug it - or fit a new spigot.
Can I get either part from the normal suppliers ?
Re: Water Loss
Just looked - Minispares have the spigot - http://www.minispares.com/Product.aspx? ... 049&title= If it's too long - just cut it down.
Sorry -I have never had to do the job - but probably heat will be necessary!

Re: Water Loss
Thanks
I'll order one tomorrow.
One last question (I promise!!)
Will any of the fan belts on http://www.minispares.com/ fit my traveller.
I need to order one so it would be useful to save postage.

Re: Water Loss
Don't see a fan belt in that link. But most Minis around now will have the larger water pump pulley and of course an alternator. So - you could take a chance - but belts are so readily available locally - even Hellfrauds may have one (but don't count on it) - and certainly your local Autoparts place will have one to suit. And - I AVOID the fancy 'cogged' belts - just use plain!
