Traveller rear seat belt fixing points

Post by badger »

I have started to look at fitting rear seat belts into my lovely new Traveller today and have found what appears to be some already existing holes under the rear seat. On removing the small bolts and washers there is a 10mm hole underneath so I was just going to put a reinforcing plate behind these (4" square) and bolt straight through, then drill through the wheel arches in the back for the reels and bolt through again (with plate).
Does this sound like the right thing to do?
Do all Travellers have these holes or just the later ones (mines 1971)?

Thanks[frame]Image[/frame][frame]Image[/frame]

10mm should be ok, I've got the correct bolts if you wish to pop up to check.

These are suitable seat belt holes - I think someone has drilled them and used them before!

You need the Securion 264 code belts. The 254 belts list the Traveller on the applications but they are too short.

Thanks, I have the 264 belts as I checked back through the old posts to see what had been used before.

They come with all the appropriate fixings too so no need for your bolts millerman, but thanks for the offer (hope you enjoyed your eggs).

I've just got to try and get them fitted now before the weekend so we can have a trip to St Fagans...
