Astral Traveller Does anyone remeber it ??? With the help of Pete (plastic orange) I`ve been trying to find if it still exist.
Anyway no luck, so if I can find a shell going to have a go at building a near replica (hence the add in wanted).
It was featued in custom car in the early 70`s.
But thats all I know. Greg
Dunc Wood who helped George Watt build Astral Traveller was still dabbling in Minors a while back. He is a paint sprayer in the Angus area, but I'm not sure where he is working now since his premises burnt down a couple of years ago. I've no idea about George - he never built anything else as far as I know.
I'll contact Dunc to see if he knows anything, but my quest to purchase the car ended 20 odd years ago with no sucesss - I'm sure it's gone.
That's some car and I like the name but was it realy fast enough to have that name and I imagine 40 years ago it probably was, so he must have been a bit of a cloud walker

It would still be a quick car even today - Ford 289 engine out of a Mustang, E type IRS, Westminster front clip, 8 x15's on front and 10 x15's rear. It did have a steering geometry problem, but this could have been rectified, and possibly was later on. The engine could have been tweaked to 500+ bhp if he wished and if the car had evolved certainly would have been. I think it was a ground breaking car in it's day - it won national awards.
Just heard that it was last seen in Inverness about 17yrs ago ??
Had the engine taken out and left in a garage.
There must be someone out there who know`s its whereabouts ?? I`ve got money burning a hole in my pocket.
