If i were to buy a Midget 1275 Engine and gearbow,How do i tell (if it's out of car ) If it's a midget engine and of 1275 cc What are the tell tale markings on the block and/or other sign's,Only i have seen one advertised and dont want to be mugged off into the wrong size engine and/or none midget engine,It's my intention hopefully to rebuild one slowly as fund's/ time allow, and fit to my 61 with the Fantastic Wolrsley brakes that i have recently fitted !!!

Take someone with you who knows what they are talking about. The engine number will tell you but this could have been removed or changed so no guarantees and the oil filter should be in the same place as your Minor engine. If it is high mounted behind the dizzy it is a Marina or Ital engine. Engine mounts should also be the same as your Minor engine as other 1275's used different front and back plates and therefore different mounting points.....

As above - the oil filter will still be down the side as you are used to - but on the other side there will be NO cam follower cover plates - as there are on 948 and 1098 engines - just a solid block. This tells you it's 1275! Glad you like the Wolselely brakes! :D
