boot and bonnet hinge question,

Hey all, is there any way to seperate the boot/bonnet hinges by taking the pin out in the middle??? as i want to paint over the chrome and want to be able to get in the actual hinge joint

You can knock the pins out by putting the hinge on the edge of a vice, then using a hammer and nail punch
I think the pins only knock out from one side only :D

And you will be likely to damage them - and it will be hard to get good paint adhesion to the chrome........
