My JVC CD player/radio is my one and only modern upgrade so far. Very good for drowning out the sound of the engine, and very reliable.
I got an internal ariel too, but my biggest problem was finding appropriate sized speakers to fit in the mog, so I've compromised on sound quality. Took my 19 year old son out for a run the other day, he loves the mog, and thinks the JVC is a "cool" idea!!

Well I always work with the radio/other music on, so unless it was really loud and really bassy i wouldn't be too worried!if you walked into a garage to get a car serviced and the radio was blasting away, what would you think?

Heh.
Wait till you've spent a few years in an orchestra in front of an entire symphonic Trombone and Timpani section!

Dad's minor has a budget radio with the tuning knob which doesn't stay on - you drive along tying to fiddle with the stalk to get something decent to listen to. The other day on the way into town on the motorway I got onto some thing about a fellow who is into old VWs - I was totally amused listening to VW stories, driving a Morry (ironic!) with the world driving by outside.
In the workshop I often listen to some form of music or radio.
My ute won't have a sound source (except the native morris sounds) unless I get too tired of listening to the birds and crickets outside.
Plans for the new van include some decent sort of CD playing system.

Bridge over Troubled Water played at full tilt will drown out engine noise... You do get funny looks when waiting at the traffic lights, however...
I remember sitting in a traffic jam on the M5, windows down with Wagner blaring. Ah, the good times...

Oh I'm used to that! As I suspect we all are when the eurobox sheep try and wonder WHY we aren't doing the same as them...........You do get funny looks when waiting at the traffic lights, however...
Like the two lads in the Fiesta Si on the A34 the other day could not figure out for the life of them WHY their 'fast' car could not keep up with an old banger like mine!

Reminds me of an old Laurel & Hardy movie, where they had a gramophone under the bonnet of their car, with a piece of string routed to the inside.fweddy wrote:Cassette maybe, but surely you could fit an LP player under the dash.from a cd?
Could work in a Minor, just don't drive over too many bumps!!

You used to be able to buy 'ghetto blasters' with an LP playing facility (early 80s) I wonder if there are any left on eBay..........
