1275 distributor
I recently aquired a 1275 midget engine for my traveller it came vitually as removed with all ancillaries I am confuddled by the @electronic@ Lucas distributor which has three wires coming out of it red (coil +ve ?) blue (coil -ve?) and a green anyone know what thats for ???
Re: 1275 distributor
I guess it may be the system from a Mini ? Or an aftermarket conversion ? Maybe consider just buying a complete new dizzy from this lad - the 45D is a screaming bargain - and the A series doesn't need electronic ignition anyway- although he will supply if you wish. http://www.simonbbc.com/automotiveshop/ ... tor-morris

Well - if it's a 123 dizzy - that 's what it is - where's the problem? First you say it's a Lucas dizzy - then it's a 123 ......... But since you find my answer 'tedious' - I'll leave you to get on with it!

Re: 1275 distributor
It (the distributor that came with the engine is a Lucas !! as stated I think. The one installed is a 123. The tedium comes from an excess of red wine and apparent failure to read initial question correctly, which asked "does anyone know what the green wire is for ? ". The reason behind this being if I know what it is I can perhaps sell it on.bmcecosse wrote:Well - if it's a 123 dizzy - that 's what it is - where's the problem? Re: 1275 distributor
I suggested earlier it may be from a Mini with electronic ignition - you found this tedious. No red wine on my part - if you find it tedious - don't drink it! Unlikely you can 'sell on' a dizzy for any worthwhile money if it doesn't have the accompanying electronics pack - and now brand new dizzies can be bought for under £30 anyway. Your original posting is very confused (your red wine I suspect) and is then further confused by you stating the dizzy in the engine is a 123. I'm not a mind reader - i can't tell which engine you are talking about unless you make it clear. If you have a 123 dizzy - use it in the 1275 - Simples!!
