Yet another little niggle I'd like to try and get to the bottom of. I've noticed that after a good run out in Maureen when I come to turn the ignition off she splutters away for a few seconds.
I'm hoping that at least one of you out there is thinking what an idiot, its the ?????, but as the amateur I am I'm not sure what to do. Anyone like to give me some advice in lay man terms?
Thanks

Re: Engine splutters after switching ignition off...
It's 'running on' - caused by something glowing red inside the combustion chamber(s). Try new spark plugs - Champion N9Y are good - and perhaps try a different brand of petrol! While the plugs are out - what colour are they ? Black = too rich and is likely to cause the running on. Light beige is the correct colour. Try advancing the ignition timing slightly - until you hear some pinking - and then retard it very slightly. Come back if these ideas don't help!
