National Rally 2010

Post by stephenpolhill »

Just wanted to say I had a fantastic time at the rally. Went down Friday and came back yesterday afternoon (3 hours to Cambridge with stops may I add!). Just thought it'd be nice for people to add any good pictures they have of the rally. I will when I get on my main PC :)
Thanks again
Steve

Did you have to pay excess baggage charges for all the trophies you took back over the water :D

What exactly was happening about judging and awards? I couldn't find anyone who knew any information?

The judging was done Sun afternoon by a team of esteemed judges & prizegiving was approx 4.00pm - this was announced over the PA & any of the organisers should have been able to tell you.

Talking about teeth, Stevey is it true that some false teeth were found outside a tent and the owner has not been identified? :o

Further to Roger's response the details were also inside the rally programme. The list of winners is usually published in Minor Matters.

Fantastic. I think it was an excellent idea to have a younger owners section. Towards the end yesterday I had a 17 year old and his mum ask lots of questions about mine and moggys as he really wants one for his first car. I recommended him to become a member and go on the forum. I also took him on a quick drive to whet his appetite so we might just get a new younger owner!
We did laugh when over the PA it was announced the teeth were lost
And I feel a right plank, I should look harder and ask the right people about these things!

Yes, the false teeth were claimed. They belonged to a lady who sent her husband to claim them as she was too embarrassed :o

Our lost property service also reunited a guest with his hotel key and a young lad with his father. We didn't find out who left the black lace knickers in our hotel room before we arrived, but judging from the garment, I reckon there would be plenty of our male members who would be interested in meeting the lady

Well what a fantastic time we had! :D Our first "National" and certainly wont be our last! Hopefully we will be able to take our Minor next time (just how long have I got to get it finished? exactly! :o ) Arrived Sat lunchtime and found the perfect spot under a tree! Friendly neighbours and a great view of the arena :D What about those Red Kites? was terrified they where going to swoop down and nick my burger off the bbq :D Had a great time raking through the stalls and came away with some fantastic bargains :D Yes I was the "Nutter" that bought the set of white seats! (though at £20.00 I thought they where a steal :D ) Met Phil Smith with his Million and had a nice chat with him. Drooled over the Beardmore Brothers Minor (if I only had a spare £20,000 :D ) and thought the blue Minor that took the "Masters Trophy" was just amazing!!! Roll on next year! heres a few pics for those unfortunate not to make it.[frame]Image[/frame]our view![frame]Image[/frame]A few Minors![frame]Image[/frame]Our neighbours minor that won a 1st for best 4 door (shame about those flags tho! :D )[frame]Image[/frame]Well I was pleased with my purchase :D[frame]Image[/frame]It was even better in the flesh! A truly amazing job!!!!
