what thread size is the carburettor studs on the original manifold for a 1098?

dosent it have two thread? on that attaches the carb and the other one into the manifold? or have i got confused again?

Typically it would be coarse thread where the stud goes into the manifold and fine thread where the nuts go on that hold the carb. A lot of them are 5/16", some are 3/8"

It's certainly UNC into the manifold - just not sure if it isn't also UNC to the carb.

When you've found the thread, remember that you need half-nuts to hold the carb on.
