where is the best place to get some nice taps and dies that are suitable for a moggy? (i forget what the threat is)

UNC and UNF taps will be plentiful, it's the BSW, BSF and BA's that you may find hard to get and expensive. Decent quality makes are generally Presto, Dormer and Golliath and even with these it is very much you get what you pay for. Try www.namrick.co.uk and look at their taps & dies section. You'll get practically any nut or bolt that you'll ever need plus the taps and dies to suit. Recommended.
