Maybe a bit of a stupid question but cant find an actual answer searching.
While greasing under the car, I noticed a big gooey drip, the steering gaiter has split in half and lots of oil had escaped.
I fitted a new one and greased the nipple under the carpet but was wondering if the gaiters should be are full of oil as there appeared to be a fair bit inside the split one.
If so, what oil and where do I put it?
Thanks

If you lift the passenger carpet, on the bulkhead/footboard there is a grommet, remove the grommet and through the hole you will see a nipple. To get oil in it, I unbolt the nipple and squirt EP90 in via an oil can.

Re: Steering question Oil/grease?
According to the manual you can fill a grease gun with thick oil and pump it through the nipple. However, I didn't fancy trying this with my relatively modern (and a bit crap) grease gun, it has enough trouble with grease, let alone oil.
I give it about 10 -20 squirts (depends on the oil can!) and move the steering wheel between each squirt- both wheels off the ground, front of car on axle stands.
Some folk advocate using grease.
