I'm thinking of having the tracker system installed on my car, and wondered if anyone had had it fitted and how happy they were withthe service?
Also the website is difficult to understand and I carn't work out how much it would cost.

Re: Tracker
I've got another system "Trackstar" on my modern but fortunately haven't had to use it. My cousin has the Tracker on his van & when he put the van it on the back of a lorry they rang him to ask if he knew it was being moved - so I guess it works. In terms of cost you're looking at the purchase price (either £349 or £449) plus the subscription (£135 a year or £350 for as long as you own the car).
I have to say that given the number of Minors that seem to be being stolen now I'm seriously getting one for mine once it's back on the road.

Re: Tracker
Just fit the secret switch for the fuel pump. If it does get stolen despite that, they must be serious thieves - and that's what Insurance is for! I think if they put it inside a building - the tracker is blind ?

Re: Tracker
even if it is "blind" inside a building, they can track it to the building.
yes insurance is there to give you the money if a determined thief nicks your car but my emotional connection to the car means i would much rather have my car than the cash.
the cash will not remind me of the 6 hour trip back from reading festival with 3 drunk mates getting me to stop at every service station so they could have a smoke and use the facilities.. every time I meet up with one of them they always ask do i still have the car and do i remember the trip.. like i am going to forget it!!
I am sure everyone has stories like this and cash well.. I can earn that tomorrow.

Re: Tracker
Trackers are well worth the money.. my dad had his modern stolen which was fitted with one of these units. The tracker still works if the car is inside a building, underground or in a shipping container, they caught the whole gang that was involved in the stealing my dads car. Very rewarding as there were houses repossessed as they were funded by crime and they all got over five years in jail. Then my dad got his car back!
