thaats not a split screen thats had a piece put in if you look at the screen it hasnt got the high spot where the split goes

Josh is right!
The windscreen aperture uprights are too 'thin'. Splitscreens have much thicker ones.

Why would anyone do this ? A '65 car would have normal wipers - which won't work on that 'split screen' . It looks like the car only has one wiper fitted!

What a bizarre thing to do! Now I look closely I can see it too. A quick check on the DVLA site says it's been off the road since 1987 so it's obviously been dry stored. Looks like a solid car though, and the wood looks ok, but why is that section cleanly cut out of the N/S? They don't usually rot just there.
