GPO/PO Minor vans
I'm putting together a book on the subject of GPO/PO Minors vans.
bit stuck on the cab number section, therefore would appreciate chassis/cab details from owners willing to help!
may even try Civilian LCV's if enough are forthcoming!!

Re: GPO/PO Minor vans
Hi Mike,
No-one has even attempted them.
The aim of the game is to accurately date cabs when chassis numbers are unnavailable.
By the by, 609 FUU is still about!

Hi Chris,
I assume then that you have read chapter 2 of Morris Minor Light Commercials and are approaching the subject from a different angle?

Re: GPO/PO Minor vans
We bought an ex-Royal mail van direct from PO at auction in 1978....
it had a wooden drivers' cab floor - bolded to the existing metal one via the seat fixing bolts...
in our workshop.....uncovered it last week!!!
never seen this mentioned
As for the hefty sumpguard on our SLN 230F......
Oddballs.....
White 'Wingard' mirrors first appeared on the early Bedford HA's - Minors were always black. So if you're restoring one into mint/as new condition....PLEASE take note!!!
Has anyone got the lever pull and rod for a Royal Mail Minor? We have 2 locking bars, but NO pulls/rods!!!

The use of the word 'We' and 'our', with no previous insight of your situation, is often used by companies or outlets.

Re: GPO/PO Minor vans
remains of mailvans VAW 982J and VWV 266K lurk in the undergrowth too...
interestingly(?)....VAW 982J lasted only 6 years....from being registered to being sold off from the PO with terminal rot!!
this was the one with the wooden cab floor.
PO bits from VAW are shared on SLN 230F and FVB 838J, the cab door on BOM 4K, and its body now holds our stock of rear axles and propshafts.....
Another thing worthy of note....some mailvans - like my FVB - had temperature gauges on their pull levers....remember seeing this on some Minor mailvans at Tewkesbury auctions in 77/78!!
Have a set of GPO snow chains somewhere....came with 413 FLE!!

Both FVB's + GFH's chassis are like new, black paint and all - helped by being painted with engine oil!!
