Having read the concours posts I had a look at Minerva and discovered that her engine steady was neither the right way up or the wrong way up but missing totally!
Where does it attatch to on the bodywork as I can't quite see from the picture?
Phillip as you look at the battery tray below it there is a section about 1 1/2" deep that reaches down to the bulkhead crossmember and on the left hand side there should be 2 holes where there should be a bracket fixed with the end havibg an angled part for the engine steady to fix to, however they often break / corrode and some people make an alternative as Cam has done or fit a Grumpys kit that fits in a different location, and you do need one as without the engine can move under breaking and worse case senario the fan will hit the rad.

The complete kit is £25 delivered and unless you can weld an alternative in (as Cam has) the cost of having it done + buying a new steady fit will work out more expensive. Cam will be able to post a closer up picture of the area I am sure.

The kit definitely sounds the way to go as while I can weld I have no welder (or place to weld anymore). Are there any pictures that Cam doesn't have (other than rear seat wingbolts)?
Does anyone have the phone number for Grumpys to hand? I'd like to get it ordered and fitted quickly as she's my only transport at the moment!
My engine is also running better now the dizzy has been replaced (with a working vaccume unit) and the carb tuned a bit better but I have a rattle thats not pinpointed yet, about the only thing its not doing is running rich.
Cheers
