steering rack lubrication
having only discover the grease nipple for this today, should i lubricate it with grease or oil?
Re: steering rack lubrication
Endless arguments about this - I use grease. All other racks of same design use grease - including all Minis etc etc . It doesn't run out into the boots!

Re: steering rack lubrication
My solution is to undo the nipple with a socket (I think a small AF) and squirt in EP90 oil from an oil can. Where is says 20 pumps on a grease gun filled with oil I give it about 20 squirts with the oil can. Then bolt the nipple back on again. Put a little grease in the socket to stop the nipple falling out when removing or re-fitting.
Cheers John - all comments IMHO

Re: steering rack lubrication
How much grease?
Re: steering rack lubrication
Unless it has obviously run out at the boots - a few pumps of the gun.
