Mag Wheel Nuts
The minor studs are 3/8" (correct me if I'm wrong).
Do any of you know where it is possible to get parallel shank wheel nuts for mags that will fit the minor - I've found one source here but am keen to try get a better price.

Well Scott - with some of those posts about....Damon !!!!
What are you suggesting ?
But then - no one here would be trusted based on such logic. ;)
Can't you help me with some nuts Scott - after all they are Aussie wheels!
Got a set of trident wheels - like srichardson's (name recalled from memory - could be totally wrong) on his woody ute. They are for my new van (must introduce that some time) have fats (6" with 205s) for the back and less-fatters (5"? with 175s) for the front. Just need something to bolt them on with (and get the van in road worthy condition!).
Wanted to find out if they are available at a better price before buying here (have found one location with them).

The only company I know of here that makes wheel nuts is Tefba Enterprises, just west of Sydney.
The phone number is 02 4774 2045 (I don't know what you'd need to dial to get Australia).
I'm pretty sure the studs will be UNF as nearly all the mechanicals changed to UNF after Morris became OHV engined - so that will make them 3/8"UNF.
If you can give me one of your beaut drawings with the required dimensions, I'll give Tefba a ring for you. I'll also check in my local parts shop to see what's listed for 3/8"UNF.
Do you have a preference for the material ? I guess steel would be the cheapest, but Brixtons suggestion might look better.

I've rung all normal parts outfits round but they have nothing. Even specialists normally can't help. But I think I'm on to some here in NZ but need to check the measurement to see if they will fit first - the price is fairly high tho. If you figure me a price Brix I might go take you up on it! - Also will get measurements for you Scott.

Fweddy,
Popped into my local parts shop yesterday arvo.
They have a listing for the wheel nuts you're after. There were a couple of different sizes of the shank but the bloke was sure they'd be the right ones. The manufacturer is "Nice" & they're # T038.
I can't draw pictures (even on a computer!) so here are some measurements:
Shank depth 25mm
Shank diameter 18.6mm
Overall depth 46mm (nut + shank)
The nut is 21mm & the nuts are chromed.
The price here is $2.80 each & he'd have to order them in as they're not a common size.
Does this sound like what you're after?

Sounds a tad big Scott - I need approx 19mm shank and 17mm diameter.
I've found one place here who reckon they can get some for me at $3NZ (about the same price considering exchange rates) - I mentioned it to a friend who said his son worked there and is he trying to see what he can do and also confirm that they can do that size - I'm yet to find out on that one.
Another option was a specialist with thousands of second hand wheel items (nuts, caps, trims etc etc) but they did a look for me today and can't help out at all.
I have one other option where I know there are some reasonable second hand ones but are a tad pricey.

Dug up some nuts that came off a Marina (7/16" UNF?). They have a shank diameter of 17.6mm but the depth is a bit more than you're after. They are about 21mm deep with the washer (approx 3mm) fitted.
Are you sure your wheels fit the Minor ? Most mags here are made for the Holden Gemini & the PCD isn't quite right (100mm instead of 4"). Don't want you buying these nuts only to find out the wheels can't be fitted properly.

If 7/16" they are too big for minor studs (3/8"). I found a nice set of them too, from a Zephyr.Dug up some nuts that came off a Marina (7/16" UNF?).
May fit that way but the wheels seem to be a true 17mmThey have a shank diameter of 17.6mm
If that is 21mm total shank length it would be ok, the mag thickness is 19mm, then of course there will be a washer of about 2-3mm, so 2 mm would be permissable but I'd rather be a tad short and not risk having the nut done up tight on the hub but not sandwiching the mag properly. But if that is 21mm extra sticking out after the washer is fitted, yes, too long.the depth is a bit more than you're after. They are about 21mm deep with the washer (approx 3mm) fitted.
Yep, the wheels do fit the minor - the fellow I got them from had them on a van at one stage and I tried them on a hub before buying. He also had some 4 x 100mm which do actually fit over the studs but studs are not centred in the holes so mag nuts won't fit - He had them slightly slotted to fit 4 x 4" and are now 'useable' on a minor. Are you sure your wheels fit the Minor ? Most mags here are made for the Holden Gemini & the PCD isn't quite right (100mm instead of 4"). Don't want you buying these nuts only to find out the wheels can't be fitted properly.
I'm still waiting to hear from this other fellow who's son works at the Mag and Turbo place . . . .
