Hi guys,
Haven't posted on the forum for a while as the Minor's restoration has been on hold...
I'm managed to find a heater (the round, gold, early one) but how on earth do I fit it?
As far as I could understand it's held by two screws on the front panel to the underside of the dash and sit on the shelf.
Can anyone give me some insight on this?
Thanks a lot,
Pedro

Re: Heater fitting
One rivet on the (gold?) metal rail that goes in front of your knees and holds the edge of the cardboard shelf. Replace the rivet with a screw/bolt to hold the bottom of the heater. You need the heater, the small metal piece that goes from the top of the heater (square-ish shape) to the two round pipes for the air. You also need 2 pieces that go on the end of the pipes and screw to the body just underneath the rubber windscreen seal. Lift the seal near those 2 large (8cm?) slots and you'll find the screw holes.
One pipe goes to the (1/2 inch BSP?) hole at the top of the cylinderhead and the other goes to the waterpump.
Do you have all of the pieces?
Some early cars didn't have holes in the body for screen de-mist vents. mine doesn't (1949)
If you send me your e-mail, I'll send you a copy of the original factory heater instructions.
