Hazards/dash switches

Post by tonicaek »

Hey guys,

Got Jeremy up and running like a beaut - now preparing him for him MOT. Have come to find the hazards that the previous owner installed aren't working, therefore have to give them a looking at. Now, I've taken a dislike to the knobs for both the hazards and the windscreen wipers/washers switches and thought this might be a good time to start looking for new ones. This is what they look like at the moment:

I'm assuming the hazard is from the kit ESM offer:

But I want the dash to look as original as possible, therefore want to change the switch, but I've no idea what I need to be looking for to fit - same goes for the awful wipers/washer knob, too!

I would leave the harards knob, it balances up the choke knob at the other end. Assuming that you have single speed wipers and electric washers change that knob for a matching toggle light switch. Wire the wipers to the side light terminals and the washers to the headlight terminals so that 1st position gives wipers and 2nd position gives wipers and washers. Also available is a toggle switch with a spring loaded 2nd position.
Here are the instructions for my hazards which are probably the same as yours. I did have to modify one part, can't remember which but it was fairly obvious[frame]Image[/frame]
