Re: Morris Minor police car dash's
I don't have any photo's of the Dash. I will take some of mine tommorrow for you. I have a police Radio in my side (Driver side) glove box along with a 1970's walkie talkie, and a 1960's /70's hand held mic, that I blue tacked to the dash. The Radio should have been a Pye Westminster Set. but someone I met at a show prommised me he would get one for me. untill then, I will carry on using the one I got from an old ambulance. Hidden behind the Radio's is a speaker that's connected to a cd player in the boot. from there I play a cassette of an origional police radio communications from the 1960's. So if people look inside they see the radio set-up and listen to police talking over a radio. My beacon and police box is connected to a switch on the left hand side of the stearing wheel and my two tones on a toggle switch on the right hand side of the stearing wheel. I can supply photos tomorrow.
Another Cardiff police panda belonging to Simon Mitchel has a set-up but his car is made up to the origional spec.

Two tones are the sirens (Derr Derrs), (Nee Nors) or what ever noise you make when you see a ploice car.

Re: Morris Minor police car dash's
Owning an origional Morris Minor Police car is such great fun but getting origional police parts is very hard indeed. I belong to two police car collectors clubs and they are great for gaing parts from. another way is people who use to own them sometimes come and chat and promiss bits to you but then they don't always deliver. and then theres old flee bay where the items might not be origional and can cost the earth.
I have bought police helmets on there so people can wear and have a quick photo with them, Ebay were selling them for £40
I now use a supplier who lets me have ex-issue police gear cheeper. ie helmets £16.
both my wife and myself now dress up as period police officers with our panda.

Thinking of turning yours in to a police car, Josh? Some of them were in Trafalgar Blue.
