Nice. I have had a couple of 944's myself too. An 84 2.5 LUX and the latest one was an 86 Turbo.
The Turbo was chipped, mapped and had a twin port wastegate fitted as well as a boost enhancer which brought the turbo in much sooner than standard. It was stupidly fast and would kick flames out the back

I really do miss that car. But the Merc 2.3-16 more than makes up for it. Ultimate speed isn't the be all and end all.
Alfie, who's Morris im helping to do up is also a Porsche nut and has a very nice 87 Carerra 3.2 convertible
I took the Traveller for its first proper drive in 8 years today for a booked pre MOT checkover

Very impressed indeed. The steering is so precise and sharp! The brakes were, err, a little bit scary at first

But once i got used to them all was OK. It really does drive well for a car that hasn't turned a wheel in all those years.
All we need to sort now is the horn and a non working front indicator and it will be ready for an MOT.
One thing though, it has no seatbelts

I take it this won't be a problem at the MOT due to the age of the car? (1964)
Cheers,
Stu
