Leaf spring renovation

Post by kengilbert »

Is there a renovation kit that I could purchase, to service the rear leaf springs of my 1958 MM Saloon? (Bushes, pins ect)
Ive looked at the sketches in the Haynes manual until my eyes go blurred
Thanks Ken :(

Pretty sure that Bull Motif will sell you a 'kit' of parts - which will renew all the mountings (ie pins/bushes etc) , but won't do anything for the leaf spring itself. Is that what you mean ? http://www.morrisminorspares.net/

The Leaf Springs appear OK, but I,d like to replace the rubber bushes, and whatever else appears to been worn or rusty. Ive Emailed both EMS and Bull Motif asking the same question. They`ve both read the Emails , but as yet have not replied

Won't be expensive - just look at the Bull website and pick off the parts you need. You need to decide also if you are staying with rubber bushes - or upgrading to poly bushes ! May be worth looking at JLH website - they do kits of poly bushes and i;m sure will organise the pins etc to go with them if asked. eg http://www.jlhmorrisminors.co.uk/store/ ... ductId=243 However with care - the old pins are usually fine for re-use!
