I have a 1954 Series II Morris Minor Convertible. Clarendon Grey. I found this car at age 12 and have had it all my life. I'm 40 now and live in the States.
I'm FINALLY completing restoration and I'm replacing the plywood in the boot. How should I treat the plywood? Was it originally painted body color? Was it stained? Please provide a detailed description (color of paint or color of stain, etc.) so that I might get it right.
Best to you all from the U.S.A. Morris Minors are the finest car the world has ever seen!
Plywood in boot - paint? stain? what did it look like new?

Welcome to the forum! As far as I know, they were all painted matt black in the factory. You could upgrade it with a piece of old carpet, as a lot of owners did at the time

I'd agree. Matt black - so I would say get some chalk board paint and it would be perfect.

To be as it left the factory the matt black will have to be sprayed not brushed. It depends how 'original' you want to be?
