car or van/pickup bumper valance
Hi, can anybody tell me if the front bumper valance is the same for all models, i won one on eBay to replace my rusted one on molly but my bumper has more bolt holes than the valance, i drilled and fitted it then noticed the valance does not cover the complete wing bottom it only covers half way to the rad cover, there is no other mogs near me to compare it to and i junked the old one , its a steel one and i thought it was a bargain for £11 plus postage but now maybe not,
thanks for any help Mikey[frame]

Ahhhh, well, I can't see the starting handle in your pic avove
The only differences I know of are between the lowlights and the highlight cars. I "thought" all others were the same.... Actually, thinking about it, I would expect a difference between the cheesegrater grille cars and later slatted grill cars so maybe yours is from the earlier type....

Re: car or van/pickup bumper valance
Thanks for the replies, looks like i will have to find the correct one, someone local told me the van and pick up has fewer mounting points than the cars, which might explain why i had to drill more holes, all i know is i will have to trawl eBay again and then sell the the one on the car, same really has it is in very good condition no splits or rust at all, once again thanks for the help, best regards Mikey.

Re: car or van/pickup bumper valance
Hi all found this on eBay it looks the same as mine vendor says its from a 1967 car, can anyone tell me if this is correct for that year because if it is then mine should be right, if it is does anyone know why they don't cover the complete wing bottom,
best regards Mikey

Re: car or van/pickup bumper valance
I think you are confusing us ? We have agreed above that yours is from an early slit screen (cheesgrater) car. You need one from a later car. The measurement of the part that "should" fully cover the wing bottom is approx 10.5" (an early car would be approx 8"). Any bumper from an October 1956 car will be correct for your car.... HTH

There are more of the correct ones about for your car than the early ones that you have - The early one should fetch good money on here or on ebay

Re: car or van/pickup bumper valance
The overriders on the '54-71 valances fit level with the mounting bars, on the earlier '52-54 valances they fit closer together inside the mounting bars so that they do not obscure the side lights which is why the holes in your bumper do not match the holes in the valance.
