Just goes to show that properly looked after they can provide sterling service

.
It annoys me when you hear "Pleb" motorist say that old cars weren't reliable, when they should qualify the statement with "When I owned one". Only today I heard about someone with a W reg Zaffira, with 170000 on the clock, who in the time he has owned it, has never changed the oil (I'm not sure how long he has owned the car but I think it's over 5 years)

. Talk about coal in the bath mentality !!! This only came to light when the ECU failed (Which at £1000 to replace is worth more than the car) and the mechanic, who related the story to me, just happened to examine the dip stick

. Apparently the owner said he hadn't changed the oil because the "Car was going OK". The owner doesn't now know what to do. I suggested, to the mechanic, "Try a season ticket".
