Footman James Insurance qoute
Hi I have just tried to a Classic car insurance quote on the Footman James Inusrance website. And after filling in all my details i was told that my age, 18 was to young to get a qoute.
Does anyone know why this could be as i know that other people on here of my age have got insurance with footman James.
Also does anyone possibly know if you can insure a car with footman james under a Provisional licence.
Thanks for any info in advance Josh

You need to ring them up. They advertise in minor matters if you want their number. And i believe they do provisionals now, but not certain.

They will insure younger drivers under the clubs young driver scheme You have to be a member of the club and tell them that you are when you phone them ;)

Re: Footman James Insurance qoute
i got a quote from fj stand at a car show and fully comp with an excess of £500 is £950
not bad considering online quote at varies companys ranged from £2000 to nearly £8000. just because they dont want to insure young drivers.
and yes ive had the same problem with fj online quote

Footman James will insure younger drivers under the Morris Minor Younger Drivers Scheme, BUT you do have to ring them and quote your membership number to them. As everyone's details are different they only to this scheme on the 'phone not inline.

Re: Footman James Insurance qoute
Footman James certainly do insure younger drivers - I first had a policy when I was 17 and it cost £750 for the first year. I am now 19 and the premium is £450 a year, so very competitive. The excess is £750 though - and that is on TPFT, so you do really need to keep that money aside just in case. It take it you're a member of the MMOC? As it's necessary to be one.
They specifically advertise themselves to have young driver schemes - so am surprised you've got this answer from them.
Out of interest will you be attending the National Rally this year?

Re: Footman James Insurance qoute
they've insured young drivers for years, but you have to phone them. i wanted a quote for a 1960 950 minor 2 door and it was a grand fully comp :O only problem is that they would want the full £1000 in full once i wanted to take the policy out. i mean what 17 year old has a grand spare for insurance (i'm almost 19 now).

Did you actually ask if you could pay monthly? From what I've heard they will.
