3.7 diff

Can anyone tell me what vehicle the ATA 7241 diff was fitted to? I have a listing of the various diffs that can be fitted to 1000s but this one isn't included.

The 3.7 diff was fitted to all Wolseley 1500 and Riley 1.5, plus the later Midget 1500.

And there is a very handy Mini speedo that gives EXACTLY correct speed and miles - on 155 x 14 tyres.

Would a healthy 1098 be able to push a van along with this ratio (with not much in the way of payload) ?

Roy. Can you tell me what TPM I should be looking for?

Well -my warmed up 1098 copes very well with the 3.7, sure - I have to go into 3rd sometimes on hills - but no hardship there. 1248 is the tpm!

I had seen where you had made that comment before, but I thought the fact that we are talking about a van, which is a bit heavier and a lot less aerodymamic that it might be asking too much of a 1098. Mind you, I am intending to warm it up with an improved head, carb, cam and exhaust.

my 1098 is healthy but not warmed at all.. i do notice the lack of acceleration, i have to work it hard getting out onto some roundabouts on the way to work.. around town etc it is fine, goes up the hills no problem ( ok soft southern hills not proper welsh / scotish hills mind you )

But it will do 50 in second gear - and over 70 in third!! Top gear becomes an 'overdrive' - which is fine.
