Kleinig finned alloy racing head

Post by kotemaori »

The Kleinig heads have finally been completed, at least, the ones for the water pump engine, the 1939 on generator mount heads have been cast and ready to machine.[frame]Image[/frame]

Looks impressive, have you got any photos of the combustion chambers? I am also interested to see how the top hose connects upto the two outlets. I bet it cost a lot more than the Derrington head

Here is a pic of the combustion chambers just after the flycutting for valve relief was machined, this is only needed when higher lift cam is used.[frame]Image[/frame]

Wow!!!

The head looks fantastic and would be even better with the monaro carb set. What about an a set of extractors to complete the set up. My poor old side values may actually go up hills without dropping into first...

When are they available?

Hi Alan Frank Kleining produced these in the 1950's in NSW Australia, but apparently not as effective as the Mazengarb conversion.
Cheers

What sort of gains are to be had from the head (only) as surely the combustion chamber 'shape' is similar to the original cast iron? I assume the compression ratio goes up?
