hello and im new to moggys.

Post by MoggyMavis »

Just thought id come on and introduce myself.

Im Karen from Edinburgh, and i just bought my first morris minor last week.

I orginally went to see a mark1 ford capri which i also bought, but was very taken infact smitten, with the little moggy sitting behind the capri ,so i had to take it home aswell.

It is a 1000 , c reg. and is in need of some well lots of tlc. i just love it too bits and named it Mavis.

now i have a question... i need to find out what alloys and stud pattern the car is compatible with??, i would like to kind off modifie it just a little, make it my own kind of. but in keeping with the age.

anyway, just thought id say hello, and hopefully my Mavis will be mot'd and on the road by next month.

Hello Karen and welcome to the madhouse! Hope you enjoy doing up and using both of your cars. I like Edinburgh, they have a great speedway team!

The wheels you want have stud holes on a 4" PCD, most will be 14" diameter. The suppliers do these although they aren't cheap.

Hi Dean, and thanks for the info. those wheels are nice just what i had in mind. thanks.

Edinburgh is a lovely city, with lots to do. Cant say i no much about speedway, but i have herd they are rather good.

been having a look at all the cars in the post a picture of your car thread, and all of them look amazing.

Only had my car for a week, and ive already had a few people wanting to buy it, and saying how lovely it is, same feeling as owning the capri really, feels special.

Welcome to the forum Karen. Quite a few of us from Scotland now on the Forum. There are NO modern alloy wheels that will fit the Minor. You either need to track down some old wheels (and often they are only 13") or buy new specially made alloys designed for the Minor.

Welcome karen,
I got my wheels from Demon Tweeks and were quite expensive. But you could change the stud pattern to ford
that'll give you more of a choice of wheel depends on your budget :)

WOW !! think im in love with your moggie.... tiz gorgeous. all credit to you.

thanks for the wonderfull replys.. nice friendly bunch .x

When i first got the moggie, i was thinking out the box really, azure blue against the chrome ,i thought would work, minilite wheels and black seats, carpet .
But i dont know if i want to go that far now...it has a lovely pale blue interior, which i quite like. and the carpet is dark blue, again in keeping with the colour... then i was going to tint the windows a little..but...thats seems exstream now.

gosh i dont no... will make my mind up, when i buy wheels..see what happens.
thanks again

Hi Karen,
Why not come along to the scottish branch rally in Pebbles.
It's on Sunday 13th of June.

It's looking to be a big turnout this year judging by the amount of cars on the show stands so far this year.

Graeme.
