What's this wire for?

On the underside of either side the dash on my traveller there is a taught steel wire that is fixed with a screw. The wire(s) run up the pillars next to the windscreen.

What is/are it/they for? Something to do with the headlining?

Please quell my curiosity before I'm tempted to undo the screws and cause havoc!! :lol:

they are indeed the front headlining tensioning wires

You won't cause havoc if you release them but you will get a saggy headliner :lol:
