are the floor panels single skinned or double skinned?
i ask, as my drivers side seems to be double skinned and coincidentally holds water like a bucket.

they are single skinned
if yours has a double skin then it will rot out very quickly

They start out single skinned, but can end up like onions with patches over patches for a tasty rust sandwich

thats exactly what my floors are doing now, rusting quite nicely above crossmember and at the bottom of the small dip just behind the drivers seat.
how hard is it to whip out the floor and replace it with a nice shinny new one?

There are many resto threads with pics - the quick answer is - it's not 'easy' but certainly do-able given welding equipment and ability.
