Traveller rear compartment mat set

Post by stuart_k »

I'm replacing the mat set at the rear of the Traveller in the luggage area but I've come across an impasse. In order to remove the wheel arch covers I must first remove the arm rest thingy from the back seat area but I can't work out how it is fixed. It is certainly fixed solid by some means and I don't want to damage it by brute force. How do I remove this bit?

It turns out they are part of the card for the rear so the whole card comes away as one with the arm rest attached.

Can I take this opportunity to recommend the mat set provided by Bull Motif. This is the first time I have fitted after market upholstery items and they have fitted first time without any tweaking or swearing needed. Full marks to the manufacturer!

and after (just needed to refit bolts and petrol pipe cover, waiting for the paint to dry):

If I could get the screws undone to get the old set out then I could replace it. Trouble is there would be no more piling all the junk and rubbish in the back and off down the tip or the new set would look as bad as the old one

Judging by the condition of mine I think that is what the previous owners must have done with it. Fortunately I rarely need to go to the tip these days now that the council have given us a green wheely bin for garden waste.

Can't get old Dysons, tables and used oil in the green wheelie bin :( The tip is the best place for a Dyson cleaner.

I've refitted the boot matting on mine. When I need to put something in which would mark or scratch I use a heavy duty rubber sheet to protect it, and remove it when finished.
