Do all Minors have heaters?
still looking for my 1st moggy, viewing 1 this week that is a split screen.
when looking at the various timelines on the minor it seems that the only reference for a heater is with the 1000 delux.
I ask because I will be using said moggy as daily driver and will need to travel 1/2 way down the country during the winter and would hate to arrive hyperthermic lol.
bit of s illy question probably but...

It was an 'extra' - but I would say most have one fitted now. BUT - the early ones are quite pathetic. Common mod is to fit the bigger fan from a Mini heater into the Minor heater casing (later type - not the round one) and a higher temp thermostat. Main thing is to draft proof the cabin - not always easy!!

The earliest cars didn't have water pumps, relying on thermo syphon to circulate water around.
I believe part of the heater kit is a water pump and these are getting quite hard to find.

Split screen could either be a Series MM side valve 1948-53 orSeries 11 OHV 1952-56. The later s/v MMs 51-53 may have a heater which is capable of keeping the frost off the inside of the car. Most of the Series 11s should have a heater.
