Here in Massachusetts (USA) our Registry of Motor Vehicles has a terrible reputation. Everyone seems to have a horror story relating to their lack of service.

In 44 years of driving I have only had ONE bad experience at the RMV and that was only a matter of waiting 10 minutes for an inspector to say: "Cross out white and write in blue"., the EXACT words I recommended to the teller when the color of my van was printed on the Reg. Cert. :) Most times I am in and out in a very short time.

The RMV gods must like me?

So now I've just found out my mog hasn't got "historical status" as the taxation class! Looks like my adventure with the DVLA will begin again... got my bloody MOT Tuesday too, even got the V10 filled in ready.

Ok.. cooled down a bit now. Has anyone ever paid for six months tax, proved the historic status during this time so they can drive the car.... then got a refund?

Answered my own query here.... hopefully with a valid MOT and insurance I'll qualify as my V5c does state the year of manufacture on it.

Now I can see Brians annoyance.... why not re-issue the V5c with both manufactured date and historic status... what a bunch of loonies!
