Hi all
Just wondered if any body from south wales is going to SWCCC Pencoed Agricultural showground on the 10th May. Its always a good show with plenty of cars turning up. Unfortunately I think your a bit late to enter now, but you can always get in as a late entry, but theres a fee that goes with that.
Im officially going now, I recieved my passes etc to get in and as of 30 minutes ago the pickup is now road legal again for another year
Hi Steve. Our Branch is having a few cars going but I am sure it's on the Sunday 9th. May. I was going again but will be taking a long weekend at Kiddeminster. We have Chepstow on the 16th May and Abergavenny on the 30th & 31st May. Are you comming to our Drive it day run on the 25th April?
Raymond.
I think I can now attend your drive it day, I didnt reply before as I didnt know whether or not the Pickup would be Road legal MOT/Tax wise in time. But she is now, so I cant see no reason why I cant. Whats the route? Are you all driving close to or near to Caerphilly, I should be able to join you all around there?
Ive got to sort out/buy one of the tilt covers fastening down cleats, because when I was passing the pickup in garage over the winter my coat ripped it off the body an broke it into two bits (it was only alloy). I think a washing line fastening cleat will suit quite well. One other little job Ive got to do is to replace a short section of Fuel hose next to the petrol tank, because I currently got a in-line filter in the suction line and apparently thats causing my fuel vapourisation when its in really hot weather.
You are right the Pencoed show is on the 9th and not the 10th sorry, hope to see you all at pencoed anyway, Ive got a Blue Pickup as pictured below.
Didnt know about the Abergavenny show though, where is that. Is it the one that Karin Lamb of Blaenau Gwent is organising?
Hi Steve. I don't Know Karin Lamb. But the Abergavenny one is at Baily Park it's a large Steam Agriculture event. Last year was a great year loads of sunshine but the year before was very wet.
I have attached a Route/Timetable on the link at the "Events" section. But if you can email me with your vehicle reg, I will send you one direct. If you want to meet us on route then we will be passing J32 M4 about 11.20 - 11.25am ish better still if you travel to J30 at Cardiff Gate and wait for us on the over bridge you can't miss us there.
Raymond Dawes.
Don't forget Tredegar Park (Newport) on 13 June. I am entered but I've entered the MGB GT V8, so am not entered to be on a club stand (The MG Car Club never have one and I'm not in the MG Owners Club).
Race against time though - Car currently off the road - just doing the minor touches (excuse the pun) - until i snapped the wheel stud - plus i have go to get my base down for a conservatory i am building - happy days!!!
