Rear Seats

Does anyone know what the legal position is on rear seat belts, in a 1957 car obviously I don't need to fit them, but I intend to fit some in the rear for the kids, if I do that does that then mean I have to put car booster seats in as well? As they seem a bit high in the rear of a Moggy.. :-?
