Does anyone have any idea if you can find out a registration number if you have the chassic number.
Bought a split screen rolling shell with chassic plate(car doesnt need welded)just needs doors,interior,bootlid,front end,engine and gearbox,just need to find out the reg number.Any ideas welcome guys

Contact the DVLA to explain the situation, as you're going to need to get a V5C for it anyway. If the car has been on the road at some point since their system was computerised they should be able to trace it using the chassis number. If they can't trace it, and you are a club member, Rob Thomasson might be able to assist in helping you to obtain an age related number.

I suspect it will need to be an age related number. No chance of 'finding' an old tax disc under a seat/in the back of the glovebox?

I'm sure a quick phone call to the DVLA will answer all your questions
. Lets just hope no-one bought the V5 off ebay and is using said reg plate..... the inspectors will be knocking their door.

Behind the soundproofing behind the dash is a good place to find lost tax discs! I found a parking ticket from Torbay from the early 70's behind the one in my previous Minor.kittyfell wrote:I suspect it will need to be an age related number.
