Spin-on Oil Filter Conversions

Post by chrisjenner »

I want to fit the Spin-on oil filter conversion kit from Moss. This is the one which uses the existing filter head, and seems to me to have the advantage of not disturbing existing 40 year old pipework. Moss' catalogue states that the kit is good for all Tecalamit heads EXCEPT those with a casting number MIC90020. Try as I might, I can't see any casting number on my filter head. Does anyone know if my 1970, 1098 engine is likely to have such a head?

My view - stick with the original filter. It works, provided of course the plate and spring haven't been thrown away sometime in the last 50 years.........
