Crazy paint

Post by polo2k »

Hi all. Im getting ideas together for my upcoming project.
Before I start I will be spraying my bike for a bit of practice on the painting side so im looking for inspirational paint jobs on minors. Im thinking about a colour with some red in it, or possibly blue.
The minor is going to be a modified traveller, the wood areas will be "darker" ;) and overall just generally a bit mad!

: on a side note : for the bike I was going to practice spraying a flip paint however at £150 a litre (and a minimum qty of 1 ltr) it was a bit rich for me so im probably going to go with a silver base coat, electric blue pearl and then a layer of metal flake with laquer over it. Im planning on replicating an original colour scheme in the metal flake by using different colours of metal flake in different areas. it sounds complicated but I fancy doing something a bit silly and I think it will help the resale value of the bike

Ooh looks interesting too.
MY friend Rob is trying to convince me to keep a standard colour and although I like the idea of the subtlety it would provide but I also think that if im going to this much effort I really want him to make a big impact!

Argh its such a dilema!
The engine is here and ive not done a thing to it yet because while im checking it over and sorting out anything I find ill be painting the block but I dont want that to look naff with the body colour.

Argh!

if your painting the block, then paint it all black and then have the rocker cover painted same colour as the car, or polish the rocker cover or chrome it, the overall look would be nice,

You could try a std Minor colour but in basecoat and put a 10% pearl to complement it. You will need to spray the vehicle whole though unless you have a very experienced sprayer.otherwise the pearl may differ if done as individual panels.
