not such a great idea to fit under wing plastic covers...

From another classic car forum http://www.porscheclubgbforum.com/tm.asp?m=539896

"Just a reminder, as I am sure most of you already do this, but every 6 months or so I unbolt the plastic front underwing trims and inspect the wing cavitys for mud and road debris.  Yesterday I did this on the near and offsides and the ammount of mud in the nearside wings and plastic trim was quite shocking.   I spent a good hour cleaning out all the crud with brushes and airlines etc, then retreating it all with waxoyl (haven't got any Dynax S50 yet but I have ordered some to arrive this week)

I was amazed at how much crud was in there and I dont even drive mine regualrly (400 miles done since Jan 1st)

I would say to everyone, and all you daily drivers especially, that you should do this job every Spring and Autumn at the least !!  "

I think it is better on the Minor to hose the mud out regularly and waxoyl. Don't hide the problems!

...and while you're at it, unscrew the gearbox cover and waxoil the insides of the chassis legs!

That is a very good idea! I waxoyled the chassis legs on my traveller 13 years ago and despite the car living outside within 1/2 mile of the sea the chassis legs are still sound.
