Our old one had 165's on it when we first got it.
Was like driving on ice! The amount of roll was terrifying even though they never let go.

I have 175 14s on my saloon. I'm no boy racer, but I drive the car enthusiastically, and have never had a problem. I will admit that they roll a bit, though.

155s are quite adequate on a standard rim with enough grip to be able to throw the car through the occasional roundabout. Anything wider should have a wider wheel
